Family Residents
Guiding Principles
OHM is committed to equipping homeless families with the tools necessary for resolving issues that lead to poverty and homelessness. We dedicate ourselves to helping homeless families restore healthy relationships with each other, with their community and with Christ.

ESSENTIAL to the success of our residents is a high level of support balanced by a high level of expectation. Any client who enters our shelter is guided by these important ideals:

You are not a victim.

If you take responsibility for your problems, you will leave with a home, and you will leave better equipped with the tools that will enable you to become a responsible, contributing member of the community in which you live.

You have great possibilities.

We believe that God is deeply concerned with the welfare of all. For this reason we commit ourselves to helping families in our care reach their potential as humans, ready to participate in and contribute to the world around them.

You can stay "a week at a time, for as long as it takes".

Families admitted to the shelter understand that program participation based on their individual situation is a key component for realizing success. Residents making steady progress towards pre-established goals are welcome to stay for a week at a time "for as long as it takes".
OHM's Mission
It is our mission to help homeless families regain their independence and their lives.
