Revival House Thrift Store Sales Associate

Time Commitment: Part-time; Tuesday-Saturday; 12-5 pm; 25 hours per week
Director of Accounting and Finance
Reports to: Executive Director
Purpose: To work alongside the Executive Director in achieving the mission, vision, and values of Open House Ministries
Status: Exempt
Time Commitment: Monday-Friday – 40 hours per week; occasional nights and weekends for board meetings and special events.
Pay: $90,000-$118,000/annually

Position Overview
The Director of Accounting and Finance will serve as a key leadership team member and strategic partner to the Executive Director and Board of Directors. This role combines financial stewardship with operational oversight to ensure the organization’s mission fulfillment through efficient operations, financial accountability, and sustainable growth.
Essential Functions
Embrace the mission, vision, and values of Open House Ministries
Participate in executive management planning, evaluation, and monitoring of organization wide activities and services
Provide assistance to the Executive Director and leadership team in completing scheduled tasks, including but not limited to strategic planning.
Assure all federal, state and/or local financial reports are completed accurately and on time
Oversee all fiscal functions and participate in the designated board financial committee
Oversee all aspects of the annual budgeting process
Oversee and lead staff in the accounting department and facilities staff as well as our outside properties
Improve processes and policies in support of organizational goals; formulate and implement departmental and organizational policies and procedures to maximize output
Analyze organizations insurance requirements, negotiating insurance policy contents, purchasing policies, and managing all aspects of coverage and claims
Ensure premises are used effectively
Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director
Financial Leadership & Governance
Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, accounting, audit preparation, and financial reporting
Provide strategic financial analysis and forecasting to support organizational decision-making
Present financial reports and analysis to the Board of Directors and Finance Committee
Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and reporting requirements
Maintain strong internal controls and risk management practices
Oversee investment strategy and management of organizational assets
Operational Leadership
Direct and optimize key operational functions including information technology, risk management, and property management
Oversee vendor relationships and contracts
Team Leadership
Provide direct supervision and mentorship to department heads in Accounting, IT, Risk Management, and Facilities
Foster a positive, mission-driven culture aligned with the organization’s faith-based values
Develop and implement staff training and development programs
Ensure effective communication and collaboration across departments
Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, CPA, or relevant advanced degree preferred
Minimum 7 years of accounting and progressive financial experience
Prior experience in the nonprofit sector strongly preferred
Understanding of faith-based organizational culture and values
Experience reporting to and working with Boards of Directors
Skills & Competencies
Strong financial acumen and analytical skills
Excellence in organizational management and strategic planning
Knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles and regulations
Understanding of information technology and digital transformation
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and accounting software
